6 Things We Already Know About Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Draft Script

James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy, has announced that the first draft of the films sequel has been completed in a post on Facebook. Gunn also took to the comments to reply to fans questions about the film revealing some major points about the sequel.

1. Peter Quills father won’t be J’son

Peter Quills father was heavily referenced in GOTG and is due to make an appearance in the sequel however he won’t be the version from the comics. When asked about the character Gunn had this to say:

Yeah, he’s unappealing to me. First of all, his name is J’son.

2. The films name is still undecided

Even since Thor: The Dark World Marvel have a habit of putting subtitles in their franchises sequels, from Captain America: Winter Soldier to Avengers: Infinity War, however GOTG2 might not receive the same treatment with Gunn playing around and posting this when asked about the films name:

3. We know one of the lines from the film already

Gunn’s sense of humour came through when he was asked for a line from the film the commenter had to have expected this response:

I am Groot

4. Hulk wil not be in GOTG2 (spoilers for Avengers: Age of Ultron)

Despite hints in Avengers: Age of Ultron that the Hulk may have went into space it seems the character will not be in GOTG2 squashing rumours of a team-up in the movie.

They (GOTG) will not team up with Hulk.

5. Every song that will be in the movie has been chosen

The soundtrack to the first Guardians film was one of the highlights of the movie, and the sequel looks to be no different. Every song for the Awesome Mix Vol. 2 has already been picked and put into the script so that they can be played while the actors are on set just as in the filming of the original.

It’s already in my head, and every song is in the script, just as I did on the first movie.

6. There’ll be more than the main cast returning

It was pretty obvious that the main 5 Guardians would be returning for the sequel, however Gunn has stated that a few other actors will reappear possibly opening the door for the return of Nebula and Thanos.

Yes, the main cast is all coming back, along with a few others from the first film.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set for release 5th May 2017
